Why choose a Mid-Rise Scissor lift?

Some home garages and workshops might not have the headroom or expendable space for a 2 post lift*. They are popular in home garages, detailing shops, tyre bays, workshops and body shops.

Why chose a Mid-Rise Scissor lifts from Equipment4garages?

Presently we have 4 Mid-Rise Scissor lifts in our range. They are all portable and have a range of lifting capacities 3 Ton, 3.5 Ton and 4 Ton.

There are several locking positions and a movable limit switch on the platform style Mid-Rise Scissor lifts.

Do you need air supply for the locks?

Our present range of Mid-Rise Scissor lifts do not need a separate air supply.

Why do you mention ‘lifting plate design’?

Our Mid-Rise Scissor platform lifts have this design. It is also known as a ‘Kicker’ plate.

What does a ‘lifting plate/Kicker plate do?

It allows the lift to start lifting from a very low height. Ideal for low ride height cars and they are a favourite with detailing shops, as they work on a high percentage of sports cars.

What else can you tell me about a lifting plate design?

At a low height there is no mechanical lifting force as the hydraulic rams are in a horizontal  position. So the lifting plate compensates by pivoting and acts as a booster rocket.  In short the lifting plate feature makes the lift stronger from a collapsed position.

Can you use the yellow up ramps as extended platforms?

Yes, you can lock the run up rams in an horizontal position to extend the platforms and they are load bearing

Do you need to fix the lift Mid-Rise Scissor lift to the ground?

In most situations there is no need to fix the lift to the ground. However, if you have a tiled/shinny floor you may incur slipping and you will need to either fix it to the ground or use rubber mating or run up ramps, which we can supply.

What electric supply do I need?

These lifts are 1 phase 220v, but you need a 20amp supply on a ‘C’ or ‘D’ breaker. We have a bulletin on this subject, which you can request.  So, they cannot be used with a 13amp plug.

Is a mobile kit included?

Yes, a mobile kit is included.

What oil does the lift use?

It uses 32 grade hydraulic oil. They  need 2 x 5lts. Our part number is E4G 3205.
